Becca’s proven equally adept at belting out full-throttle, female empowering rockers like “Kickin & Screamin” and “I’m Alive!,” her vow to live life to the fullest in the wake of the premature death of a friend.  Though she’s equally prone to vent or switch the sexual tables as in “Guilty Pleasure” as well as croon big arena-sized power ballads such as “Lose You Now.”   The 20-year-old brings a wisdom far beyond her years.

“This is something I’ve always dreamed of doing,” says Becca, who first picked up the guitar at 10 and by 14 was writing with fellow Oregonian Meredith Brooks, known for her multi-platinum hit “Bitch.  “It all happened when my family friend recorded a song I was singing in the school choir and handed over to Meredith” Becca says.

After a few years of writing music and pounding the pavement of the Los Angeles rock scene, playing clubs like The Roxy, Troubadour, Key Club and The Knitting Factory, word started to spread about this young rocker.  In early 2008, she was offered a record deal by Sony Music and by June 2008, she released her first EP in Japan. Since then, she has performed at the famous Summersonic Festival and Yokohama Stadium, released a second EP, and her first full album that debut at #2 on the international charts, now at ripe age of 20 years old Becca is eager to tackle the American market.

A self-described “rock chick” who was singing before she learned to walk, Portland, OR, native Becca’s gets set to conquer the states with the release of her five-song EP out in September 29 to be followed by her debut album Alive!! in 2010, both distributed by Sony’s RED.

This 20-year-old shows a maturity far beyond her years on songs like “I’m ALIVE!,” her vow to live life to the fullest in the wake of the premature death of a friend.  Songs examining personal relationships, such as “Guilty Pleasure,” “Lose You Now” and “Perfect Me,” show a young woman wise beyond her years.

Signing with Sony Music Japan in 2008, Becca released her first album, and began her journey.  Two of the album’s songs, “Guilty Pleasure” and “Falling Down,” were used as the beginning and end themes to a hit anime series, Ultraviolet: Code 044, which also featured Becca’s voice as the show’s title character. She’s also performed at the country’s largest outdoor concerts, Summer Sonic Festival, in Osaka and Tokyo, and has managed to attract an impressive following with her explosive live show.

At 14, a mutual acquaintance introduced Becca to Meredith Brooks, who was looking for a young female rocker to work with and encouraged her to send a demo. The veteran performer took Becca under her wing and the two hit it off almost immediately, co-writing a number of songs on the debut, including “I’m ALIVE!,” “Guilty Pleasure,” “Turn Up the Stereo,” “Without You,” “Make You Mad” and “Perfect Me.”

Although she was born in Portland, OR Becca has already become a staple on the international music charts and she is ready to now do the same in the states.  With her US EP debut Kickin & Screamin available at all digital outlets on September 29 and her full length CD Alive!! coming in 2010, both releases on SIN (Sony Independent Network) distributed by Sony’s Red.

This 20-year-old shows a maturity far beyond her years on EP tracks like “I’m ALIVE!,” her vow to live life to the fullest in the wake of the premature death of a friend.  Songs examining personal relationships, such as “Guilty Pleasure,” “Lose You Now” and “Perfect Me,” show a young woman wise beyond her years penned by Becca herself, and hard-hitting instrument play which conveys her never give up attitude. Becca packs a potent punch from start to finish.

Becca began playing guitar and songwriting at age 10 and her journey from a high school student to emerging artist has been nothing short of a dream come true for her. “It all happened when my family friend recorded a song I was singing in the school choir, and handed over to Meredith Brooks”, Becca says.  Meredith Brooks, known for her multi-platinum hit “Bitch” in the 90’s was pleasantly surprised by what she heard… “Becca has a powerhouse voice, and when I realized she could write songs too…I was sold”, said Brooks. This was a huge turning point for Becca then 14, who with the blessing of her parents, moved to Los Angeles and began working with Brooks.

After a few years of writing music and playing shows in Los Angeles at venues Becca then was not even old enough to patronize, word started to spread about this young singer, songwriter.  In early 2008, she was offered a record deal by Sony Music and in June 2008, she released her first EP in Japan. Since then, she has performed at the famous Summersonic Festival, released a second EP, and her first full album, Alive!!, debuting at #2 on the international charts and now, finally at 20 years old Becca is gearing up for her US debut.
